Committed to reimagining organizational tools, our start-up, iMAKER, designed your new and improved digital sticky note tracker, Sticky-Fi.
Sticky-Fi is a mobile app created to support non-linear styles of thinking through the use of sticky notes and machine learning principles, to help users accomplish more tasks without the stress of having to organize them.
This project was completed in fulfillment of IN4MATX 151: Project Management.

USER RESEARCH & FEEDBACK
To conduct primary user research we surveyed individuals between the ages of 18 to 25 about their organizational and management practices. The survey results revealed that the respondents encountered difficulties mainly in prioritizing tasks and managing their time. They also expressed a preference for having control over their tasks.
As we progressed in the design phase, we reached out to the same respondents and requested user feedback on the high-fidelity mockups we had developed. The revised home page had a centralized focus on creating boards for tasks.
MOODBOARDING & REQUIREMENTS
To start the design process for Sticky-Fi's task management app, we first created a mood board and developed a branding strategy. At the same time, we analyzed existing organizational apps to determine which features we needed to include in our app. This helped us identify which aspects we wanted to adapt to make our app more competitive.
LOW-FIDELITY WIREFRAMES
After conducting user research, creating mood boards, and defining requirements, we designed simple low-fidelity mockups to establish a shared understanding of our app's intended flow.
HIGH-FIDELITY MOCKUPS
During our project management tasks, our group divided the work into two parts: project building and project management. I, along with two other members of the group, focused on developing the prototype for Sticky-Fi. As depicted below, are the completed central pages (home, profile, and board) and a primary user flow.
PROTOTYPING
Our final prototype of Sticky-Fi follows the basic user flow of the app, from the landing page to task management in a specified board.
LESSONS LEARNED
As this class was focused on project management, our main priority was not to create a fully developed prototype by the end of the quarter. As a result, we produced a fairly basic design for our application. The features are not entirely fleshed out, and the prototype itself is limited in its capabilities. Nevertheless, we gained valuable skills in project management as we rotated team lead roles and received experience acting as project manager.
Given more time, we would have been able to flesh out our idea more, conduct usability testing, and create more iterations of the board/task designs. Furthermore, usability testing would provide us with valuable user feedback to then implement into our designs and ensure that we are solving our specified problem while also meeting distinct user needs.
