A creative mind, dreamer, and lifelong learner.

INTRO

Hello! Let me formally introduce myself! My name is Ariane Keona Ochoa (she/her), and I am a SoCal-based multidisciplinary designer. I earned my B.S. in Informatics from the University of California, Irvine, where I developed a fascination of combining my eye for visuals with my HCI studies.

Specializing in branding & design systems across digital and print mediums, my design approach is focused on impact and grounded in an understanding of mutuality. People are at the heart of what I do, and my multidisciplinary background in graphic and UX design enables me to solve complex problems with empathy.

When I’m not at my desk designing, you can find me at my local AMC, daydreaming about New York, trying to turn my suburb walkable, or enjoying good food with good people!

I am currently seeking out full-time work opportunities as a junior designer.

I would love to work in a relational environment where I can collaborate with other creatives and contribute to human-centered work that makes a lasting impact. In the meantime, I’m developing my craft with freelance work for Airweave, Saddleback Church, Locket Studio, and my own clients!

  • I create to share pieces that are meaningful, human-centered, and long-lasting.

Creating has always been an outlet for me to express my authenticity. Growing up, I ran on nothing but my imagination, telling my made-up stories and constantly finding new ways to share my thoughts. My natural ability to create sprouted into something more once I entered college and got a part-time job at my school’s Esports organization as a graphic designer. Getting to explore design outside of a classroom allowed me to flourish and left me with a desire to seek out growth and view any experience as one to be learned from.

Studying user-centered design at the same time taught me how interconnected the work of creating is with the people. Creating goes beyond whatever you can make up in your mind; it’s an act of mutuality and it requires an understanding of your audience. This learned perspective gave me a drive to create with and for a purpose. I want everything I make to be rooted in compassion and intention. And as I enter the field of design, I am eager for opportunities where I can create resilient work that is grounded in empathy and built to last.

  • Zohran Mamdani’s entire campaign (and win!!!), deleting social media from my phone, any and all forms of physical media, the seasons changing (slowly but surely here in SoCal), saving money and making my own lattes every morning, going to the movies (we love being an AMC A-lister!!!), fixating on a new boba shop every week (right now its TP Tea), catching up with old friends on a walk around the neighborhood, watching GOING seventeen to unwind at night, and my comically long and wide legged jorts
